I agree Jonathan, Div. I needs a playoff system at the end of the year to determine the championship. Auburn going undefeated and getting left out in 2004 was an injustice. Had that been a Big 10(11) team or Notre Dame the outcry would have been incessant.Jonathan wrote:That wouldn't prove anything, honestly. They would have to give another team a shot.
Proof? 2004. Oklahoma gets stomped by USC. Auburn had gone undefeated in the SEC that year, but the BCS cheated them out of a championship due to a lack of "style points" in a much tougher conference than either of those teams faced. Auburn had the ability to kick the shit out of either team and never got a chance.
What we need is a proper playoff system between the conference champions, just like every other respectable sport embraces.

And probably the only team in the NCAA that can stand toe to toe with OSU and overpower them in both offense and defense. Too bad for the blatant pass interference that wasn't called at the end of the Auburn game, that would have been the game winning TD and would have propelled them to the national championship instead of Florida. Funny how one referee can destroy your national championship hopes, just ask Oklahoma fans.
So, I suppose Florida is the alternative. Still a great team, LSU is just a flatout powerhouse and IMO would have made a better matchup with OSU. But thanks to one referee, they get to go beat the snot out of Notre Dame.
