We have direct tv, I'm not to fond of it... It's pretty retarded when their rates spike up every six months... Just wait, within the next couple of months your rates will go up a couple bucks... Then a few months will go by and they'll send you a letter say its going up a little more....

In the last year or so our rates went up like 20 bucks a month... :sad017:

Sorry, didnt mean to hi-jack your thread, just trying to warn you...

Hmmm^ I have digital Cable and I love it, but at the same time i really hate the internet package that we have and its theior "TOp of the line" Platinum package... BS is what it is .. .Damn DSL... Anyway... at school im forced to buy their crappy digital cable but i was thinking if I could get Comcast or Direct TV somehow and its only $65 a month i would totally do that, and i dont really need all that fancy XM stuff or extra channels... just 1-76 is fine with me.

For HD&Digital cable +HBO & DVR, 12Mb internet, and phone, it's about $130 a month here for Cox. I think most of it is for the tv cable. Probably $70 per month just for that.

Never tryed DirectTV, but had Dish Network and loved it for the first year... we had the DVR too, and yeah I loved the fact that I could pause regular tv for up to 2hrs. to talk on the phone, get something to eat, or just go to the bathroom, then come back and skip through the commercials :)
But it didn't last... once our contract was up (1 year) they started increasing the price like Justin's did to him, and were paying $20 bucks more a month after 6 more months...
And if that isn't bad enough... When we cancelled it they sent out a box for the set top DVR and then tryed charging my credit card for it the next day... Luckily my bank called to verify the payment ($680), and I stopped it... called dish and told them they can go get screwed tryin to bill me just one day after I got the boxes to return it in :angry

I do miss that DVR though :(

Sad thing is... Direct TV and Dish Network are 2 seperate companies competing for you, so you'd expect better from at least one of them.
