Some folks can't stand the position on a sportbike, either like a GSX-R or CBR.. I like that position, as much as I enjoy a good street or cruiser ride. I'm just stating that having the bike fitted is very important to a comfortable ride, regardless of the bike's style.
On that note as well, avoid cheap full suspension bikes. Don't even look at full suspension unless you have at least $1500 to spend (new) The cheap ones are not worth the money. Better getting a mid to high end hardtail over a cheap FS bike.

Depending on what you're after, see if you can find a used Trek Lime.
It's a neat bike. My mom has one.
3 speed automatic electronic transmission, very comfy upright riding position, etc.. check out the specs:

Went to the local bike shop today.

Im hooked on a Trek 7000

The 2009 model is $360... The 2008 model is $310...

Im hoping now to find a 2008 model and save some bucks. I dont see any difference in the years except $50 more.

That's all it is usually. It's not like there are very many radical changes in bicycling :D

well there is eDA (electronic DuraAce) which is a pretty radical change, if you like touch-button electronic gear shifting. (Being used by their road racing teams now)

Anyway, This is the wrong time of year to find model-year end sales. That's done in Fall/Winter, usually around Xmas when the new models are unveiled. Now it's all about selling to people buying for the Summer.. like you :)
Same with motorcycles, too. Spring is the biggest sales season.

Well the yellow Jeep bike is gone now.

I got $125 to put down on the bike I really want.

Gonna go check it out and take a spin later. Providing its what I want and they do payments Im gonna put it down on it then pay some weekly until paid and can bring it home.

Again, be sure the bike shop does a proper fitting of the bike for you when you buy it. It should be a part of the sale, and not an extra charge. It's worth the time it takes to do it. Maybe half an hour tops.
It'll make all the differene in ride quality.

Well I got there today, man that place was busy.

I didnt get to talk to anyone, I waited over 1/2 hour...

Oh well, just window shopping or hoping they had layaway anyhow.

They had the same $310 Schwinn bike I test rode for $270... There was a Haro bike that interested me also.

On a side note my Yellow Jeep bike is now gone.
