you can get that jbl 1200 and get the 2 sx's, youd give em 600 each, you will be pulling a LOT of power(not counting yorue speaker amp) you might need a better alternator.

well, you can do with less power if you take justin and will's idea. that'll save you $50+. but you'll have no trunk left.
an SX is a great choice, and a jbl amp will do just fine. considering its all stock...you'll need a jbl 600.1, because a 1200.1 will draw to much current from the stock alternator.

dont order from RE this week though (oct 12th), i guess they're getting a bunch of orders lately and so their shipping is behind like two weeks. I ordered my sub around the 22nd of september and it isnt shipping out til oct 15th or something. Was supopsed to ship the week of the 5th :-/
anyways they(RE) have absolutely GREAT customer service so if you wanna call them they will help you step by step how to build a ported enclosure. I was talking to the guy and i said " yeah im not that good, i dont wanna mess up a ported box and have it sound terrible" and he told me that it isnt THAT hard to make a ported box and he could walk me through it if i wanted to. anyways he helped me get the right size for my sealed box and was very patient with me. now dont take that as building a box is really easy. sealed is pretty simple if you have some backround with power tools..never tried ported though. have patience though..
should be less than or equal to 3/4" MDF (like 20$ for a sheet at home depot...beware..its crazy heavy)
lots of wood screws, maybe some heavy duty screws
power drill to predrill holes/screw
liquid nails
caulk
jigsaw
tablesaw/skill saw
thats not everything but just trying to give you an idea of the supplies you need for a box..hope i helped somehow

if Justin or Will want to explain the way to make a box that'll allow you to reach full excursion with only 400 watts, then you can get a decent amp for what you're looking to spend. but note that you'll have a huge box for your sub,
It's the size of the box that really determines how much the sub will exurt. There is a ratio for every sub up to it's Vas. You would want to go ported and have a fairly large box. The Vas for the Sx 12's are 47.6 liters, or roughly 1.7 cubic feet. Driver displacement is .16 cubic feet, so if you build a box for about 2.4 cubic feet internally, you'd do well with 400 wrms.

if say i ran the 600.1 amp would it close or as hard as the 1200.1? if i have to i will get a diff alt which i had pretty much already planned to do sience the stock is only an 80 amp.

for what it's worth, cardomain is clearing out JBL BP1200.1 amplifiers (1200wRMS x 1 @ 2 ohms) for like $200 right now.

I'd just go with a single SX an a 1000 watt amp of your choice. I think that will provide all the "bump" you will need. Build a ported enclosure tuned fairly low (28-32 hz) and you'll have a very nice setup.
