you can do a VERY VERY good system with 1500$ with buying smart, definently look at ebay, and you should always amplify speakers especially if youre gona have a lot of bass i would definently recomend a alpine HU, that brahma, any amp around 600rms(that jl 500/1 sounds alright) if you were to buy either the HU or amp of ebay(used of refurbished) you would save a LOT of money, and by the way are you planning to use the stock speakers???

ok those mb quarts are good speakers , BUT they are very expensive and you can get something equally better for much less, i would recommend the RE components go to reaudio.com there 150$ , a w3v2 is not bad,its gona sound real good but it might be out a TON of bass, definently go ported, that 500/5 seams nice IF you can get it without paying the full price(all jl is very expensive) it seams like you got a nice set up there, the only thing i would do difirently if i were you id get components that cost less, and i would get a sub with a little more bump, but its sounds nice overall.

i have heard a setup very simaliar. single 12" JL Audio W3 powered by a JL 250/1, mids and highs were MB Quart Reference series powered by a JL 300/4 it sound VERY VERY good, the highs/mids and bass were perfect, no distortion at all, it was the best SQ system ive ever heard. i almost bought it too but some other things came up, you can find the MB Quart Reference components for under $200. they sound very good, a single 12" W3 or even a W6 with them components on that 500/5 would be awesome.

Thanks for the info I actually found the Mb quart premiums for 250 a pair some said that they were about 550 last year from what i can find online seems this is a good buy. Yes the JL 550/5 is expensive retail is about 800 found it online for 500+- . the 250/1 and the 300/4 setup with the amps was my first choice but getting the 550/5 seamed to save money on the amps as well as time and money on the extra wiring. and hopefully draw a little less power from the car. Just hope going with the one amp is as good as going with the split amps.

one guy at a store suggested to save money I go with rockford fosgate amps and a RF P3 punch sub and the ref series mb quart fronts and some other brand like boston acoustic rear 6x9's this would save me some money but i haven't seen as many people hypeing the RF stuff to Much. I do want the system to last. Is it true is this nearly as good for much less money?

the key words in that sentence are "one guy at a store." in all honesty, he's wrong. you will save money with those amps and that sub, but you'll notice a difference in quality. no they are not equal. MB Quart and JL are worth the extra money.

olman i would really suggest only get ONE pair of mbquarts, dont pay much attention to the REAR speakers, the important part is the FRONT STAGE, why do you think that jl puts out more power to the front than the rear?(75 and 50 i think) you should NOT buy great speakers for the rear, if i were you id do some cheap pioneers IF you WANT to put rears, that will save you around 150$and those RF's would not be better than what youre getting, remember they are sales men and there gona do there job, sell.
