You get more rep power based on :
number of pos rep points you have
number of posts you have
amount of time you have been a member of the forum
So the longer you have been here, the more posts you have and to more pos rep you have the more points it gives someone when you rep them. In other words, your repping someone is more powerful than if I rep someone(with my tiny rep power of 1 ).
