New Box Completed

Prob like .75 cuft after bracing displacement, sub displacement, and stuffing adding some.
I'm going to see what a difference the inverting makes. If I still don't like it, I'm gonna pull some of the stuffing out to see if that makes a difference.

Edit: I think WinISD recommended like 1 cuft internal volume, and after displacements, that's around what my old box was giving, maybe slightly more. I'm gonna model it up in BassBox when I get home to see if that gives me anything different.

u got a xxx in .75 cubes ? u need way more than that twice that if not a lil more.

not that this has anything to do with your current dilemma... but it kinda looks like you split the ends on your internal braces...

Rob: Yea I know, I didn't notice until I had screwed them in. I got longer screws this time than last, and I didn't realize that I wasn't making the predrilled holes DEEP enough. So once it got to the bottom of the hole, it just split.
To try to rectify it since everything was already together, I put a bunch of wood glue in them and clamped them.
Bill: When I modelled it in WinISD, it said I needed like 1 cuft for .707 alignment, which is why I went for that. In addition, if you look at the reaudio.com site (which STILL isn't updated, lol), it says to put an XXX12 in 0.8 cuft sealed.

Depending on my outcome today from inverting it, I'll build another box. I'll probably build another away because I still have over half a sheet of the MDF left. Thanks for your comments guys, I really appreciate you taking your time to check out my situation!

instead of inverting the sub, or maybe in addition to inverting the sub, you could add some poly-fill. You can buy a bag of it from any fabric store ie. joanne fabrics, ac moore etc... for just a couple bucks. It'll slow the waves down inside the box, essentially tricking the sub into thinking its in a bigger box. worked for my center counsole box i made for my ranger...

^not a bad idea... but if it were me I'd probably build a 1.5-1.75 and then do the polyfill.

Side note to ptech1: Sorry we gave you such a hard time at first, it's good to see someone with an interest in the board and not just some F/S whore :happy055:

I thought from the pix he has some poly fill in there? If he is planning on taking it out he is only going to hurt it... Personally i think a new box is needed... thats xxx needs a lot more air to breath in there...
