apparently he also couldn't afford a simple alarm system.

I can say I could strip that car in less than 2 hours without waking the guy up though., and I fully understand why it was torched. you'd end up leaving hair or sweat behind.. enough DNA to get caught anyway.

i doubt the reason it was burned was because of fingerprints. if you were worried about that, and you were going to steal all that, taking the time to to get in and unscrew each subwoofer and get away, you would wear gloves. the fire is making it personal, even if it's someone who's mad at him for having so much and they have so little, they lit it for a personal reason.

After reading the thread: it was moved 30 feet, which means they tried to take the whole thing (being that it was blocked by two cars and a fence). I think they would have taken the wheels. Maybe they didn't have the right tools to?

quite possibly they didn't know how to get the keyed lug covers off or something, or hammering a lug wrench over the locking lug would have been too loud.
morons.

anyway, what that guy needs to do is hire an attourney and sue his insurance company for breech of contract.

But the 2 things you don't mess with is my daughter's (and now granddaughter) and my cars.......Punishable by slow painful death

No, I went through the posts and he said the insurance is giving him value + $1000.

Now, I don't know if that is value of the car, car and audio, or what... but thats what he said.

It isn't his insurance company's fault, it is his.

You need to have a rider on your policy to cover anything that doesn't come stock with the vehicle. It is nice of the insurance company to even give him $1000, they legally don't have to give him anything.

What idiot would have that much invested into a car, but couldn't afford the extra $500 for a worthwhile alarm anyways?

A rider on your insurance isn't even expensive. I pay an extra $50 every six months for $15,000 worth of coverage, with a $250 deductible! No excuse not to have this!
