Terry is correct my mistake. they were orginally supposed to be dual 1. since you have dual 2s you need an amp that does 2000-5000 at 2 ohm or .5. i would look at the autotek MM4000.1 because its a dual mono block and u can run each side at 1 ohm and get gobs of power from it. this is my reccomendation. i run 2 of them in my buick. and i absolutly love them. i cant think of any other amp that would fit the situation as well.

o and about your electrical system. whoever told you u needed a cap was wrong and wanted to sell you shit. second with a high power amplifier you need to give it proper current and voltage to get proper output. for a 4000.1 i would run a min of 200 amp alt and a secondary battery.

Autotek MM4000.1 would be the best overall bet for the subs... and like previously stated, ditch the cap and upgrade to a better alt and secondary battery.
I'm sure they were just tryin to get an additional sale out of you by selling you the cap... You wanna run a cap on a system that is sitting right on the boarder of power usage... fine, but they really aren't doing you any good if you're still overworking your stock alt.
