For all financial reasons, United States is bankrupt too. And we don't amass multiple trillions of dollars in debt over an 8 year period either so don't throw Dubya in the the fray.

Let's face it, everyones economy is in the crapper. Even Canada is having issues..why, because of the exports we provide, and the imports that we buy. The only nation, if you can call them that, that is remotely in the Black, is the UAE and they have Dubai in their little group of towns.

The idea is that anywhere but here may be a viable option. Just remember you will want to learn their language, cause that is what is supposed to happen when you immigrate to their nation...

So what you are saying is that we cannot hold Bush accountable for anything that has happened in the last 8 years? So he is not responsible for keeping the USA safe since 911? He is not responsible for the disarming of N. Korea in any way? Bush could not have possibly been an influence on the current housing market, or the banks, or the job sector?

When he campaigned back in 2000 and 2004, those are some of the things he said he COULD change. That is why I voted for him, twice. He told us all that he could generate jobs and prosperity for all Americans. Was he lying? Or are you simply letting him off the hook for your own pride?

I was just making a statement about his choice of exile. It could not be a worse time to move to Iceland. Their main industry is banking, which is in the crapper just like our banks.

I am no liberal and agree that English is the only official language of the USA. If they want to speak their own language in addition to English, I have no issue with that. If I were to move to Italy, I would assume I needed to learn Italian to live there. I would never stop speaking English though either. I doubt that many immigrants would oppose learning English anyways.

Remember, they want to come live here because of the great nation we are. That is a reflection of us all. If they stop wanting to come here, we are doing something wrong.

When people are campaigning they make a lot of promises. I just think some dont happen and others do... It happens every presidential race...

yea, the problem with independents is they usually just want enough votes to keep one of the candidates from winning. for example if oprah wanted mccain to win, she could get tom cruise to run as an independent taking a stance very similar to obamas to take some votes from him...independents just typically want to have an effect.
