Listening to it with a wrench it doesnt sound like its in the top end...

I would like to think it was (in a way) but its just not. Whatever it is its coming from the lower part of the motor...

It has to be bearings... hasta!

Well I paid $45 to have the car scanned.

I was told the knock sensor is showing for #6 cylinder. #6 is the cylinder that had the largest amount of rust in it.

I have bought a replacement piston.

Tonight I pulled the motor from the car. Its the only way to do this.

Ive got enough money in the car I dont mind throwing another $250ish into it.

I gotta buy a ring set ($68), head bolts($28), head gaskets($30), and a crank shaft w/bearings($137).

WIsh me luck ;)

Way past a small tick or knock, its a cracked piston.

Im going to take the pistons/crank out tonight. WIll post pictures of my findings soon.

Well I got #6 out. No crack that I can see in the piston.

THe pin didnt appear to be cracked either. I pressed it out on the hydraulic press @ work. Messed up the old piston :(

Pressed on the new one and it doesnt float well?

I guess it was supposed to be heated first???

arghhhh
