If you wanna turn some heads get a decent amp with 2 Alpine Type R 12"s even in a sealed box like this...
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/673008/3
You will turn heads with anywhere from 600w to 900w to each sub trust me you will have a great time with it! I know he turns heads with his and thats just a crappy Boss 1600w amp!!! Trust me dont get a Boss amp if this is what has inspired you to do that... But get somethign nice im sure the guys here have told u plenty of stuff to buy already lol

But yea alot of guys here will tell you not to go with a sealed box for those Type R's and they are mostly correct but we have those 2 12"s in a prefab 1 cuft box and it sounds great. But if you really put some effort into it you should run Ported and you wont have to worry about turning heads outside ur truck, u will have to wear ear protection instead

I've ran two older style type R's in a sealed box and I thought they sounded great. I dunno about the newer ones tho.

Bill, I GOT IT! I know why it sounded good... really... Ok think about it usually u always pair subs up with a good amp and in the type R's case you would prolly run like a jbl 600 or somethign in a ported box right? Well I was such a genious that i figured well crappy amp and a sealed box would totally cancell eachother out and give you a great set up right?? right??
Hope u sensed my scarcasm there lol

I think what Bill meant was that the type R sounds worse sealed, relative to ported, which is reflected by the sub's Bl and Qts.

Look good inverted. The older ones sounded great sealed I thought. The BOSS amp kills that system tho
