The longer I have it and the more I listen to it the more I like it. It does sound great, I was just expecting to much with just 400 watts. I guess I'm just to much of a bass head and it took me awhile to appreciate the SQ side car audio.

Nice to see ya.
He's been busy with another forum ;)

If the Focal doesn't offer enough output, you can always add more :)

This sub itself is designed along the lines of getting a sealed type of response, with the advantages a ported box has in terms of reducing excursion around tuning, lowering distortion at that point, etc. The subwoofer itself doesn't have a ton of excursion and it's a good compromise for a SQ application.

I know the specs say that this subwoofer likes a ported box, but I have the same subwoofer and it is in a 1.77cuft SEALED enclosure. granted, the output isn't much ( best is 132db ) but, it does do one thing very well. It is the perfect SQ sub to me. Light, tight, controlled...if a sub could sing, this would be the sub.

The only difference between his and mine is that I have the dual 2ohm 13" subwoofer

welcome back GEO, you were missed bro!
