Hey Captain you should watch the movie Charley Wilson's War. Its based on a true story about afganastan, and how we HELPED Bin Laden defeat the soviet army. We pulled out there instead of rebuilding things, and look were we are at now?

Kinda funny, we trained bin laden, and gave him money and guns. Yet 10 years later who is he trying to kill? They don't care if we mess with their life, they don't care if we helped them win a war 10 years ago. In their minds we live in an on holy way, and so we should all die.

Hell right now, I'm living out of a hotel in one of the most religious cities in Turkey. I Just left the mall, full of muslins who have suffered thanks to our fathers, yet EVERY one of them treated me with the up most respect.

Jeremy, Not to say anything wrong about where you are or where you have been... but Turkey is not a primarily Muslim country. There is a very large population of Christians there.. One of my professors is from Turkey and practices Islam. But anyway... About Bin Laden...

Hell yea we trained him and hell yea we screwed him over too. His war is not a holy war (Although he says so) its all about revenge. He uses the image of religion to get people stirred up against the western threat.

Even before the U.S was ever involved in the region there were western powers trying to subvert and destroy Islam... Look at the later crusades as well as Britain's and Frances involvement in Syria, Lebennon, the Balkans, and Turkey.

Jeremy, I have not been to Turkey but speaking secondhandedly, my mother just came back from Egypt, and trust me there were many discussions relating to Muslims and Christians interplay in the world while she was there. Muslims dont hate American's or Christians, there are a few bad apples who convolute societies perception of what Islam means. This is just like our crazy nut job Christian pastors that go out and blame homosexuality for the cause of the holocaust and Muslims as an evil anti-christ group of people.

BTW i havnt seen Charlie Wilson's war yet but I have it... I'll let you know what I think... also Even if it is a true story there is no way our government would let us know half of what really went on in our CIA, FBI or other integral governmental organizations.

A good one to watch is The Good Shepherd...

I only watch these movies for entertainment value, not to unravel the secrecies of our government or the men who run them.

Don't even worry about it dude. It took me having to watch a gun and rifle show to learn about Turkey. They make good quality hunting guns. So I was bored one day and read up on Turkey.

Yea the sad part about what I said is I just took a 400 level mastery course on the Ottoman Empire!! :O Ugh that just tells me that summer has set in and my mind is not functioning correctly... I better start researching in my off time..
