I respect your religion. I'm happy for you.
But
Its still not the governments job to push their religions agenda on 300 million people, not all of which believe in that. Just like the liberal wacko's with thier sierra club and ELF and such.
The day the government tries to tell me i'll be going to church every sunday or face consequences will be a bloody one.

I agree with both of you, religion has no place in politics.MobileAudio219 wrote:religion has no place in politics...
but you also have to agree that by professing your faith, you are also notifying the voting public that you are a man or woman that once elected, will be serving a higher power than even the federal government.
this country was founded on men and women who fled England due to them having a Faith-based government. They were to be Roman Catholic and that was it, or face imprisonment or even death.
They came to the new country to escape that kind of persecution. I can tell you, that this will not happen in this country. no faith can rule a nation. Even Jesus stated, when asked of the taxes that Ceasar required, and if he was really a "King", what should his follower do.
Jesus quietly stated, " Give unto Ceasar what is Ceasar's, and unto God what is God's " meaning, that we are to follow the rules of the government, and also follow the rules of God.
Never will we have to worry about God ruling this country. The one thing I worry about is having a god-less ruler, rather than a Faithful Ruler. That is my whole worry.

Well today I got a call wondering if I was going to vote and who I was going to vote for and how certain I was to vote for that person.
Surprise its the Democrats!
About 45 mins later another call...
The lady stated they are calling canvasing for Votes for Obama. She asked if I was interested in Obama, I said no. She politely said thank you good bye.
Its my belief that the Media and Democrats are projecting an Obama sweep of the larger states and a quick win. However judging by my unreliable small polls conducted here an at Aleromod.com, it appears that McCain is in the lead. Keeping in mind most of the people on this site and the Aleromod site are younger crowd (under 35). Which the Media and Democrtats tip to Obama.
I think were about to witness something special in 3 weeks.

the only high power in a country should be the people (we're talking politics/gov't) - if you're elected, you should be serving the people, not special interests, lobbyists, corporations, envriomentalist wackos, not at the interests of religious leaders etc. and most definitely, the people should never serve the government.
also, but nut/wacko i do mean anyone who may meet some of these basic qualifications:
- puts faith before literally... anything (those people who prayed instead of taking their kid to a doctor? the kid died? hello)
- does not think for themselves
- catholic preists that touch little boys
- weirdos that think that puberty means consent (hey! lets abuse and photograph some 11 year olds mmm) [and then justify their actions with their religion]
- beheading in the name of allah
- slaughters thousands-millions for their own good in the name of god (the spanish in the 1400s, damn those nonchristian injun!)
- thinks that creationism/intelligent design should be taught at publicly funded schools
- thinks that if there was no god, we'd all die when the sun goes down... or that if god wasn't "powering" you, you'd electrocute in the shower.
i could come up with more but sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeep

i put faith before everything. you have to. without faith, i would lose my mind. i also believe God intended for some people to be doctors....you are critizicing the whole of christianity based on the headline grabbers. itd be like me saying everyone in south carolina is a bunch of nut job rednecks who drink keystone beer and dont wash their hair or shave and wipe their butt with a corn cob while having sex with their cousin who is the product of a drunken night in the trailer park between his grandpa and a sheep.........now is that true or can people in sc form an intelligent thought?
