I don't understand what the uproar was about if the money was a loan??? isn't that like our government investing in the company?
we spend how much monthly in iraq? i've been saying all along we could use some of that money at home.
that being said, did AIG deserve the loan? IMO - NO! Did they screw up majorly by doing this? YES!

It's kind of like when somebody borrows your last dime to make "house payment" and then turns around and goes on vaction instead...
They should have to give it back, RIGHT NOW!

AIG is selling off AIG Canada(which isn't in the same financial situation)to pay off some of that debt. I have a large amount of money in AIG Canada. I hope one of the big Canadian banks buys it. Save me some stress.
