Installed a Pioneer head unit in my car, works great just the head unit doesn't switch on when i switch on the car...i have to turn it on 'manually' and it loses all its saved settings. Remote cable is connected to the the pin where the last head unit's remote cable was. Also tried other pins but can't get it to work. What might i be doing wrong?

Thank u all

Do you have to turn it off manually 2?

Its definitely a wiring issue. Usually you have your switched power and 12+ mixed up or partially wired. it sounds as though your constant wire is wired incorrectly.

so you say i should try switching places of those 2 wires?

No, Figure out which one is correct. Make sure you have them both wired correctly. the 12v+ should be wired to a constant source and is yellow. The red is a switched source and should be wired to something that switches on with the ignition.

and when i turn it off the car's clock light loses its brightness and gets it back of the head unit is off

yes i know but all this is made through those pins. can't see where the wires go beyond that.

What do you mean made through the pins? You cant get to the wires to check them?

wires from the head unit all end in a 'socket' type thing same as the cars wires do. and those 2 attach to eachother connecting the wires
