what do everyone think about the Resonant Engineering SX 12"
and what would be a good amp to push 2 of em? each are 1000rms each

what would be the minimum rms wattage needed to push these to get full exercution?

im looking for good sound quality but also good bump I wanna keep around $300-$350 for the 2 subs and around $200-$250 for the amp


ps does anyone know when the koda 12" are gonna be out? i was also lookin at them but their not out yet

flat out, $250 is not enough money for even one amp to power 1 sub.

also, do you have an alternator that can handle 140+ amps of current, plus your cars required amount of current? say 200A total?

the SX is a great sub, baiscally on par with the XXX, just less Xmax. 1000wrms is what it takes to reach full excursion, give or take 100 watts.

a suitable amp would be JBL or Kicker 1200.1....and those are about $350-$400 i think. but i'd personally spend a little more for that sub, and take tender care of it.

btw, each of those subs is like $285. so you're talking $570 for 2 subs, and $800 for 2 amps.

that sub is pretty hardcore, i'd think it'd be wise to start with one, and then see how much room you have to grow with, hearing-wise.

You can get max output out of those subs with around 400-500 watts RMS. The way to do this is put them in a large, ported enclosure.

And ignore what Jszar said, you won't need to spend $800 on amplifiers. Just get a good amp that can put out between 1000-1200 watts RMS and you will be fine. But the thing he said about the electrical system is true, but you should be okay with a 140-150 amp alternator.

i was thinking about that but was told if i got with 1 sub and a mono amp that its not gonna be good sounding bass cause its only gonna hit on like one side and not both say u got ur left and right speaker unhook the right u have the left playing and thats what it would sound like thats how someone explained it to me is this true or are they misleading me and trying to get me to spend way more than what i need to?

they are misleading you most definetly. that analogy they gave you is completely wrong.

if Justin or Will want to explain the way to make a box that'll allow you to reach full excursion with only 400 watts, then you can get a decent amp for what you're looking to spend. but note that you'll have a huge box for your sub, and i dont know what car you have....so make sure you plan/have the room for a big box before you buy anything. make sure you still have enough money for a good wiring kit, and building supplies for that box too.

i have a 92 honda accord lx 2 door 5 speed

thanks for the info cause that will save me alot of money just going with 1 sub and amp

dont think i mentioned but i want it to hit hard yet great sound quality
