jl audio w7

One of you guys told me to look into a jl audio w3 model. I was wondering how bout the w7 over priced? Is it a good subwoofer? or should i just stick with the w3 model that is way cheaper? im trying to get a kick asss system for the neon and what speakers should i use? im looking at getting a 13.5 inch w7

that is a 1 channel amp dont i need 2 channels for 2 subs?

No, you dont need a 2 channel amp for multiple subs. Just as long as ur final impedance of the woofers after wiring them together isnt lower than the impedance of the amp.

you'll need more power than 1000 for a jl w7. try 2 1000's for 2 w7s.

you wont need more than 1000w for a 13w7. How many W7's do you plan on running? If you think you're putting 2 in a neon, you should guess a little bit lower.

Actually 71buickfreak has made many intelligent posts on this forum, so your lashing out at him was probably because you didn't understand his post. I believe he was saying that the 1000/1 would not be enough for 2 W7's and if that's the case, then I agree. A single 1000/1 would be ideal for a single W7, but there's really no point to run 2 of them with the single amp. They like power.

a jl 13w7 woofer requires 1000 watts for "optimum" performance and reliability. It can easily handle 2000 watts in a properly set up system. for 2 jl13w7s, he will need 2 1000 watt amps for optimum performance and reliability. If he uses less, he will not get very much output, which will lead to turning up the gain, which will lead to distortion, extra heat and eventually blowing the sub. 500 is the absolute minimum power for this sub. if you are going to pay 800 for a sub, you need to spend at least that, if not more on the amp. would you buy a lenco transmission and 4:11 gears and put it behind a geo metro 3 cylinder and go racin'? then why would put a smaller amp on a sub that can handle so much more? 1000 per sub at least.
