Front stage in 1992 Firebird

Ok...so my buddy's 92 Firebird has 4"ers in the dash and 6.5's in the doors. Apparently the 6.5's in the doors are hard to hear, mb because there's no real speaker grill. My question to you all:
Should he even mess w/ the 4's in the dash, or just do a 6.5 comp set in the doors (maybe modify the doors a bit).
He plans on doing a dual sub set up in the back hatch area w/ the qlogic custom box. Plans on running 2 10" RE RE's.
I told him to not worry about rear fill and to concentrate on front stage.
Any suggestions?

I'd ditch the 4's and run a nice component set. He could look into the custom Q-logic kick panels for his car or attempt to build his own. If he doesn't want to do that then they should still sound fine in the doors. The RE comps would be nice as well as the XXX comps if he has the money. The Arc Kar components are also a good buy for even less than the cost of the RE comps.

I love 80s-90s F bodies.
here's what I'd do:
teo 12" subs in the back drop section. angled toward the front, and upward.. at an angle. easy fit.
two 8" midbass drivers in that rear section sail panel location.
6.5" separates up front with the tweeters in the dash location, or in the doors if he doesn't mind cutting. kick pods are another option for front stage scrapping the doors entirely.
another option is to f'glass pods for the lower front portion of the doors to house the separates, and angle them just how ya want them, firing across the cabin at opposing front seats.
dash is big enough for a head unit and pre-amp
amplifiers fit easily just behind the back seats in the trunk area, in a false floor panel to allow you a place for the T tops, which means you can extend that false floor right to the sub box and make it all look seamless.

Ok...so he wants to start with the front stage sometime soon.
He wants to put a 6.5 component set in the doors.
Any suggestions on a good comp set and amp for around 300-400 bux? Preferably closer to 300?
Thanx in advance

tell him for the $150, the Q-Forms Kickpanels are the best bag for the value. Guaranteed good staging, where you are guaranteed "ok" sound from the doors.

I would go with getting kicks.
You can do the Q-Forms, but I had them in the Camaro before. Sound wise they are fine, but I noticed that they never really did fit 'quite' right.
So if you can afford it, get some custom ones made. They'll be more sturdy too.

I would like to get Q-form kickpanels. My budget is slightly limited on what i can get. Im more interested in the componets i should get. I have 6.5" in the doors, 4" in the dash and 6.5" in the back. Working on getting the stuff and if i want something better i will upgrade to kickpanels and do some custom work.

The Q-forms will fit correctly if you follow the instructions. $149 is what you will pay for the kicks. you would pay $300+ for custom kicks. Get a nie set of compononets and you have all you need for a front stage. if you don't have any rear passengers, don't bother with the rear fill, its a watse of money unless you are running 5.1 surround.

What do you think for a component set if i get the RE series or the XXX series? How are they for quality?
