Pioneer deh-3450ub

Post by rodriguino »

Hi everyone, I had a question, I bought a PIONEER DEH-3450UB head unit and in the features it says it has a preamp setting that allow me to connect a SW In the rear channels once this setting is enabled from the main menu with no need of an external amp., also this setting filters all medium and high freq. i did a test hooking up SW to one of these channels and actually just powered the SW at 4 ohm load just with low freq for pure bass only and the front speakers has full freq as normal channel out, so the question is if its able to hook up the 2 rear channels bridged in parallel to one SW 4 ohm load so i could get more power out then?

I'm not really familar with this deck, but is this it?

I don't see anything about bridging the channels, but I'm guessing the subwoofer outputs are not in 'stereo' anyways and is just mono output.

Looks like the violet and violet/black wires are for 2 ohm subs, and the green green/black are for 4 ohm subs.

Do not try and bridge the rear channels of your head unit. Bridging it will likely blow the output stage or power supply. And its doesn't have enough power to run a sub.

Get an amp, and hook it up correctly.
