just recently replaced my deck, Amp, and sub to more updated current ones. The deck is a pioneer deh 9600bhs , the amp is the pioneer GM d9601 . The problem I'm running into is that the amp isn't powering the sub, everything is on but that. I took it to a shop and they said the amp was bad, left there to my cousins and put it in his car to test it and it worked perfect. So I pulled out the deck and tried switching the RCA cables to different Preouts, nothing worked ( Deck has 3 sets of Preouts for the front back and sub ) . I tried using a different set of RCAs, no luck. So I'm thinking it's the deck, although it's brand new. Any other suggestions?

So the amp is only powering the sub correct and you're not getting any sound to the sub right?

Are you sure the sub is hooked up correctly? I would double check all your connections to make sure nothing came loose on the sub.

Yes, it's a mono block amp, powering one sub. The amp turns on, everything is connected properly. I triple checked everything.

I don't think it's going to be the deck, it's possible but since it's brand new I doubt it's that.
Just to make sure, there is no setting on the deck that turns off the RCAs is there? I doubt there is such a feature, but good to check.

For a test do you have any other source you could hook up to your cars RCA's to test to make sure it's not anything else inline?
Like a portal radio that has RCA out, or something. Just to hook up to help rule out other components. If you get sound, then you know it is the deck.

If you still don't, then it's something else.

Yes, the deck has a feature to turn on and off the sub, I've tried that a few times. And I don't have anything else that I can hook up to the RCA cables, I was going to see if best buy or something could test the deck for me. Feels like I've tried everything

Did you try hooking it up to the other outputs on the deck?

Do you have a multimeter?
