Hey guys first time poster here.
I tried searching but my phone was not loading any results, so forgive me if this has been asked before, which I'm sure it has.


I added a amp and 2 subs to my factory head unit/system until I decide what touch screen I want to purchase.

I went with with the Line output converter to get my RCA jacks to run to the amp, and it works;
but the problem is I am getting a lot of noise, voices, and other tones, along with the bass coming from my subs.
Move never had this issue when installing LOCs in friends vehicles.
Move tried messing with the tuning in my amp and have got it slightly better, but it's still noticeably there.

Is there a way I can tune the other tones out, or am I stuck dealing with it being I am currently using a LOC?

ive "heard" here is a way to add an amp without a LOC in my truck, but I couldn't find any DIYs so I went the LOC route.

This is is my setup:

2011 Dodge Ram 2500 (non alpine system)
1200/2 Sony xplode amp
2- 10" Rockford fosgate P1 subs in sealed enclosures.

Like I said- I will be upgrading to a touch screen, and doing away with the LOC, once I decide what touch screen I want to buy.

So you're hearing vocals and other instruments coming from you subs? Is that correct?

That seems like you have a crossover setting set incorrectly? On the amp, it has a crossover built in right? Is it set to Low Pass or LPF or something like that?

Just checking back, am I understanding the issue correctly?

Yes that's is correct.

Every time I switc it to LPF it completely kills any sound whatsoever.
Not sure of that is because I am using a LOC or not?

that's very odd, so you get absolutely nothing out of the subs once the amp is set to low pass?
Are there any gain settings on the LOC? I have one in my 4Runner, that has some dials on it. When set one way, I get very little output from them.

My LOC does have gain adjustments. One for the red, one for white.
I have not yet had the chance to mess with them and the LPF switch together to attempt to get my settings correctly.
I've always used the Scosche LOCs, Walmart specials lol, and have never had any issues until now.

I am curious if it is because it's a different style I'm using this time...
I've always used the Blue Scosche LOC, that has the ability to output
2 sets of RCAs, and only had one wire coming from it, a ground,
which was t to be used if just converting speaker input to RCA output.
The style I have currently is A Black Scosche LOC, with only one set of RCA outputs and a remote "bass adjustment knob", which I assu,e is the typical gain adjustment kids like to use to bump the bass up and blow subs LOL.. and it has a ground wire, 12v constant and a 12v switched/remote wire.
As embarrassing as it sounds, I need to re-read the directions and see if the power wires are needed for my application, being I've never had a power source on any LOC I've used.
Also- what speakers did you tap into? I tapped into the rear two, like I always have. Should I try the fronts?

(I'll attach a photo showing the LOC I've always used in the past, and the one I'm us[ATTACH]2071[/ATTACH]ing in my current application)

ALSO- I had this setup In a vehicle with an aftermarket HU, with RCA outputs for a remote amp, and the LPF and all features worked as they should

Suggestions or input!?!

hmm, ya I've never used the black type before. (Have the blue one in the 4Runner now)

that is really weird how it has a 12v on a LOC, never seen that before either. Must be because of the bass knob that it has, some type of amplifier or something inside of it.
Are there any lights on the LOC indicating it's actually on?

I got my system working today!
I'm still not sure why this LOC has, or needs, 12v, but I left them hooked up like the box said to...
I'm not sure what I did that fixed it, because I did so many different things at once: (but something I did fixed it!)

- I used a different 12v switch wire than the first time.
- Changed out all of the wire taps for T-taps.
- Cut and re-squeezed new forks on all of the power and ground wires
that attached to the amp.
- Ran the 12v constant, switch and ground wires for the LOC to the
corresponding spot on the amp, instead of running its own wires to
the respective source
- I turned the gain on the LOC to lowest setting and changed all of the
adjustments on the amp.
- opened up amp and cleaned all dust out with compressed air

And after I did all that, and got ready to try it out again, the LPF finally worked like it was supposed to, and was producing only bass, instead of cutting out sound all together, or playing all sounds like a normal speaker.

Now, any pointers on the proper way to adjust the settings on my amp and LOC to get the most thud possible?

This is my sub,amp and box setup:

Sony Xplode 1200/2 Amp

(2) 10" Rockford Fosgate P1 2-Ohm subs

.90 Cubic Inch per sub
