goin to a town nearby to check out a "$2500" system a guy is sellin for $900....its still in his car so i can listen to it all, it consists of a Eclipse cd player, MB Quart Reference series components, a JL 300/4, a 12" JL sub, and a JL 250/1. im goin to bring a notepad and pin and right down the model numbers and all on it and do some research and pricing...i hope i get lucky and its a good system, ill get him to go down alot more.

He is probably saying $2500 because that is retail price. It is probably available much lower then that.

find out what model that sub is.. W6v2, W3, W0...
with only 250 watts I'd guess it's a W3 or W6.

Sounds like a really good deal depending on the condition of the equipment and the model of the Eclipse head unit.

oooook!! man that system sounded so prestine and clear...at levels of 73 it was just solid and clear highs....totally unbelievable....the cd player is a Eclipse 5442, the sub was a W3, amps were JL 300/4 and a JL 250/1, the components were 4"(i think) MB Quart Reference series in the front and in the back were 5 1/2". all Stinger wiring, nice amp rack with the crossovers and stuff on it( i get it too ), the car was a 91 Lumina (i liked it)...it sound was amazing...listened to some Def Leppard...at 72 it was loud and no distortion at all and you could hear everything crystal clear...i didnt know what to say, the bass was at 0 and the mid was at 3 and the treble at 4....it was at retail price id say....i was doin some lookin and well i could get it all on the net new for $900, but the system was Never up that loud he said, always around 25 or so....everything was brand new looking, he has the boxes to everything...only thing id change was the W3. id step up to a W6....anyway my day was good....let me know your opinions...

I'd go W6v2 myself over the W3 any day.
I might offer $500 for the system considering you can buy it new for nine.

Actually the W3 is in most cases better that the W6- but not the w6v2. See it depoends on what W6 your talking about :)

$500-600 wouldnt be a bad price.

well i offered $700....but he wouldnt take it...$900 isnt too bad, as Kiki said i can get it new that much, but id rather buy this one because i know everything works....anyway...im lookin for a car to get me back and forth to work, nothin special, and then later on look for a car i really want...but for now im lookin into a Lumina...they seem to be a nice car for stereo's....actually ive always though cars like Luminas were good for them but that is just me...now onto the components...do you think it would be better to have them on the doors? or leave them in the front and back dashs'? also onto subs, would a Tempest run well on a 250/1? i know it will give it more than 250rms...but i am not sure if this will effect the components in the back? ideas are welcome..let me know if anyone has done a install or anything in a Lumina(its a 91)... LaTeR

that HU is pretty hard to come by on the net, i got mine for $400 (the 5442) a year ago...nice HU

also onto subs, would a Tempest run well on a 250/1? i know it will give it more than 250rms...but i am not sure if this will effect the components in the back

if you put it in the right box i think youll be able to get it to perform at max or close to max output, how would this affect youre components?
