yea i installed the old ones in my buddies truck on a shitty Boss Riot Amp 1600w, and u know what its damn loud and sq is pretty good, but im thinkin that if i just get 1 it might not be like his at all and im worried that it wont have enough excursion with the woofer cone... I really was thinkin about it whether or not i should get the Kenwood the Alpine or the Eclipse Aluminum (Would get the Titanium if i could afford it

)

Why are you worried about excursion?

i have noticed that when the alpines are pushing hard they are fully extended outward alot and i know that my old Audiobahn never came close to full excursion like that ... I guess im just worried about breaking the cones or spiders or Drivers I guess something with a beefer surround would be better

i dunno his hit really hard and i cant even think about how loud they are getting but i am assuming any where from 115 to 120 ish i just wanna hit arround 110 - 120

What audiobass is getting at is that excursion alone doesn't determine how loud you could get. An example: a W7 has a huge surround and gets decently loud, but the amount of excursion is more meant for sound quality purposes.

You could do two Type R's with that amount of power. When you say you have a good amount of space, how much are we talking? Measure the Length/Width and Height of your space if you can and let us know so we have a better idea of what you're working with. I would say go with two Type R's, but unless you have the proper amount of space (I'd say around 6 cubes minimum), then there's really no reason to do a dual sub setup. With 1000 WRMS there are plenty of other options you could go with that will give you plenty of output and SQ too if you're after both. A single 12" RE XXX would be a pretty nice pick in a nice sized ported box for a great SQL setup off 1k WRMS. AA's Avalanche would be another good choice with that amount of power and right now then can be had fairly cheap since Ascendant is blowing out it's XBL^2 drivers. I'll list a few other setups that will do well with the power you have, but not really go in depth on each driver unless you have questions:
1) 2 12" or 15" Kicker CVR's
2) 2 12" or 15" RE SE's
3) 2 12" or 15" IA Lethal Injections
Keep in mind I suggested all dual sub setups for the simple fact that each woofer was rated for 500-600 WRMS, but in reality you could run 1 of any of those choices if you know what you're doing. Those are just some I thought of off the top of my head. I'll post more later if need be.

I say a single RE SX 12" or the above suggestions will do you good with 1000 watts. You will want to build a ported box for it/them.
What do you drive?
