Box for sx15

Alright...i know two things here....large and ported. Thats what i want. Also im pretty sure i wanna fire the sub up. This video right hear has really inspired me to build the box:

Does anyone think this box is two large for the sub? Personally i think its sweet, but i'm not sure if its an overkill or if i should build one that big? I have no experience in box building but i'm suppose to have a guy help me with the design so i should be alright. Also any ideas on what i should tune the box to?

3.0 cubic feet, tune to 26 or 28 hz

thanks a lot for that justin lol..i did'nt think you would give me exact numbers...i have no idea how big 3.0 cubic feet is...roughly how big is the box shown in the video link i posted?

3 ft wide, 1 foot high, 1 foot deep. That is 3 cubic feet.

thanks again for the explaination justin...so you think 25-28 hz will be loud enough?..I see a lot of people runnin single 15"s with hz in the 40's. Can anyone explain the impact the hz have on sounds? For example..Does higher hz generally give you louder bass?

If he's running a 15" sub...i dont think a 1 foot high box will be tall enuf to hold the 15...just some food for thought.

Wel lwhatever, he was asking how big a 3 cubic foot box is, and that's how big it is. It was just a representation of how big it is.

LxWxH. Then divide it by 1728. That is your cubic footage.
