I think everyone here pretty much knows my thing with LEDs right now.

Most of you already saw the LED tail light conversion I did on the 4Runner. That retro was done using a premade Peterson truck module.

Here is how they turned out, looks nice and OEM.



Now my next project, see that small little lens under the brake lights. Well in the States Toyota didn't use these. They are just there, don't light up or anything. So I decided to make these into brake/tail lights too.

This was a little more work because there are no truck modules that shape.

So I had to cut my own circuit board to fit the housing. Then solder all the LEDs into place. I used 25 superflux LEDs for this circuit.



Here is the completed board installed into the housing. Now just sealed it all back up, and here is the finish product.

I think they turned out pretty good, and these also look OEM. When they are off, you don't even know they are there.

I thought this would be a tough project, but it's not too bad. I got some help with the actually design of the circuit over at HIDPlanet. but once I figured that out, I think the toughest part was getting the lens apart. (lol)

looks great man, really adds a custom look. Nobody else has that prolly.

my friend and i just took a LED and blew it up because we put 3 times the recommend voltage to it... how do you control the flow of power to the lights, they seem very sensitive especially having THAT many lights.
