I use to run some older Type R's and they were great, so I'm guessing the Type X would be great too. But there are better out there for the money. Unless you got a great deal on it.

Haven't heard one other than inside a store...suppose to be damn good SQ woofers though. I think you'll love it.

i have a friend who had 2 alpine type r's pushed by an audiobahn amp
thats what inspired me to buy them
of course there are better out there but i got them for 250 dollars when retail is 550 so i think i did alright but i just wanted to see what some of your guys's input on them was
you know just As well as i do how hard them r's hit
well the x is rated double what one r is

Not sure. Like I said I only heard the Type X in a store so I really can't compare the two. I'd have to hear it in a vehicle to even give a somewhat decent comparision.

I hope you're not under the impression that power handling is directly rated to output. The Type X wasn't designed to be an SPL woofer, but don't get me wrong..it probably gets plenty loud. It's a long throw SQ sub with the ability to get loud. I assume they're more at home in sealed enclosures as well, but I could be wrong.
