so im bored at work, started counting my money and how much i have to spend, and I have enough for the amplifer, and the subwoofer, or speakers. I have to choose one, the re se 12 or the jl xr650csi, I'm going ot be getting both eventaully, but at the moment I only have a certain amount of money I can spend...which should it be?

Well there will be mixed reviews on this. I personally would take the sub and sub amp first. I like my bass, and can't live with out it. But I'm sure the most will say the speakers because that's what 80% of where the music is coming from, but just door speakers never excited me. I need to feel the music before I can hear it :)

For the average person, sub first. It will make the biggest diffrence to the average listener, and you can get a sub and amp for a little more than a set of components alone.

Now if your talking about an above average listener, components and amp first.

imo, i would get comps first. i'm a fan of highs.

I would get the comps first. If I remember right you are eye balling some off E Bay. Buy it now while the price is right.

The sub will be bought direct at a fixed price that probably wont change.

Honestly I am the same way, comps before subs. But the average listen (notice average) will want the sub, and won't care about the mids and highs.

Actually, I'm going to be buying the speakers from Sonic Electronix.

So it's all whenever.
