This sub has been discussed quite a few time on here. If i remember correctly one of the threads was closed. Yea its a piece of shit and hit 13X.X on pimp my ride.

JackHammers are shipped in either the SPL mode, with dual 2Ω voice coils, or as the SQL model with dual 4Ω voice coils.

Since when did ohm's make a sub sound different?

i had a kid try to tell me that diffrent ohm coils had to do with power handlin

No they do, that's why I chose the dual 2ohm XXX, because the dual 1ohm would've been geared more towards SPL, but I wanted more SQL out of mine.

Well - when you change a voice coil, impedence is definitely something that can change...
...or another way to do it, if you change a voice coil in a way that changes it's impedence, the properties about it's behavior change.

One driver may have a simple voice coil made out of copper - which will have the highest BL product of any voice coil type, but also have the lowest impedence.

They may make another version, say an aluminum voice coil. This voice coil will have a lower BL product, and a higher impedence. But likely there are going to have to be other tweaks to the voice coil as well, such as winding gauge and the length of the windings - they may have created a longer coil, that allows for increased Xmax and increased linearity, as well as "cooling off" the BL a little bit, and the Qts as well - maybe even making this sub sealed-box compatible, who knows.

Likely not many are going to be sold, so like the question of "how many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie roll pop?" - the world may never know.

Regardless, I just sort of "assume" this is true lol, we all know that, like someone said, MTX's marketing department wrote that line, not the R and D. Tricky tricky.
