No DVD sound...

hey guys i just installed a flip out Sony XAV-7W, along with a Pioneer SDV-P7 DVD player....and after install the TV video works fine but Im not getting any sound from DVDs or CDs from the pioneer....all the A/V cables are hooked up to the brain and all. And im just stumped. Any help?
I took it to my local shop and they said its has to be the brain or the wires inside got pulled or something. i hooked it up to my TV inside my house and got sound. so i am assuming that its the sonys Inputs?
