i don't know much about car audio at all, but im looking to buy speakers for my car. im just want to know what is the best type of speakers to get. i've heard of things such as co axial, component, 2 way, 3way and 4way speakers. which of those is the best to get. and since i probably won't be able to buy the best type of speakers out there, if you could rank the top 3 types to get, that would be great. im not looking to blast the bass and be obnoxiously loud, i just want it to be clear as possible when i turn it up a little. and if it makes any difference, i have a 2002 honda civic lx with just the stock speakers. any help will be much appreciated since i don't really know anything about stereo systems. thanks

Do you already have a budget in mind? Who would be installing your system?

You really got those speaker types down! Components are said to be the "best" but I'm not going to use that word. Components can potentially sound the best, if setup right. 2way, 3way, and 4way just refers to different types of Coaxial speakers really. Your stock speakers in that Honda are most likely 2way. They have the driver, and then the tweeter is attached to them. 2way. 3ways would have something like the driver (the big, main speaker) and then maybe two tweeters attached. I wouldn't go any more than 3way, but that's just me.
My reccomendation, if you're on a budget and don't want to get real deep into car audio (i.e. buying an amp for the speakers), would be to keep the back speakers stock (probably 6x9's) and buy a nice pair of coaxials for up front. You could either go with a nice set of coaxials, or a cheap set of components (but if you aren't using an amp it'd be near pointless to get components).
Anyways, you should decide what you want to do before you start looking at brands and stuff. Find out what speaker size your car holds, etc. I have a 99Accord and its just the basic 6.5" up front and 6x9 in back. Hope this helped.

my car has 6.5 speakers. my budget is about 150 to 200 maybe for speakers, im not sure because i don't know how deep into the whole stereo system thing i wanna go. i wanna keep it low, but if i find something that is good, im willing to pay more. right now im just looking for ideas. lotas, you said i should either buy good set of co axials, or buy an amp and cheap components.
which of these is the best 3 way co axials for my front. i read some reviews on the sites, but not all of those people know what good speakers are and stuff.

if you can find any better speaks at bestbuy, circuit city or tweeter let me know. those stores are near me, and i wanna be able to see them before i buy them. and most likely have the store install them
thanks
