i am not satisfied with my stock speakers ever since ive gotten my sub put in. i know it's not that difficult to get the basis of car speakers. i dont get the difference in coaxial and component speakers. im thinkin coaxial speakers have a build in tweeter and components are like a smaller subwoofer speakers sometimes with a tweeter with it. i have an 98 acura 3.0 cl and the speaker measurements are: front 6-3/4", and rear 6x9". if someone could send me how to get everything about speakers from this website (cause i cant find it) and possibly give me a few recommendations thatd be highly appreciated. im lookin for mainly sq and maybe a price range of about $100-$150 per set.

Coaxial speakers have the tweeter mounted in front of the dust cap (or center, if no dust cap) of the midrange while components are separated. The problem with coaxials in doors is that your tweeters are now blocked by either the door panel, driver/passenger legs, or both.
Bravox makes some decent entry-level component sets (I own the 5.25 Diamond set). You could also look into Peerless' 6" set (

There are a couple dealers on here who could also toss in some of their recommendations.

so is there a difference in which type of speakers to put where?

You can put speakers anywhere in your car that you like (if you can fabricate), but I usually generalize that people are going to put mids (bass or range) in their doors. The tweeters (for components) will have to be mounted in the door, a-pillars, kicks, etc. Somewhere other than mounted inside your door, unless you make up some mount for it on top of the mid.
The key thing to remember is that placement and aiming are important in how your system will sound. You should really experiment with different places before sticking with one. Although a lot of times ease comes into play with the door mounting. :)

but if the speakers are the right size, you wont need to built a mount and they should just slip right in, right?
i plan on getting an amp to run the 4 speakers. would all the speakers have to be in the same RMS range for the 4 channel amp?

I was talking about the tweeter, not the mid. Assuming they're the same exact size, with the same bolt pattern, then yes, they should screw in. That also depends on how the stock speakers are bolted in.
The speakers don't have to have the same power handling (RMS).

so the rms wattage of the 4channel amp would be around the rms sum of the 4 speakers?
whats the difference between 2 and 3 way?
and also would it be fine to have components in the front and coaxial in the back?
i appreciate the help greatly

RMS per channel of the amp should be around the RMS of each speaker.
2-way has 2 "ways" or sections that the frequency spectrum is cut up into. So you have 2 different drivers playing. Tweeter and midrange. A 3-way would be a midbass, midrange and tweeter.
Yes.

so basically the more drivers on each speaker the more sound you can get.
i now get the rms of each speaker should be around the rms wattage of each channel of the 4 channel amp.
if it's fine to get two different brands of speakers(a pair for each brand), how close should each rms warrage of each speaker be around to match up to the amp, maybe 5-10
