Well basically i should start with...Im UK Based hah.

Next thing i dont want to spent thousands but i don't want to just go out and buy some shitty mutant amp/sub package.

and i will be looking at upgrading my whole sound system and looking into amps for all speakers..

advice for whether to go for a 5.1 block, 4 block and mono, or 2, two blocks and a mono block?

and also advice on sub would be good, i'm looking into Metal music too be played mainly so a nice punchy sub not a flabby sound that will just rumble shit loads and sound wank

way too many options to answer any of that realy well, my personal sub and amp combo without requiring massive electrical upgrades is the fusion powerplant hd subs and the powerplant ppam20001 amp...its 1150 watts at 1 ohm and those subs in a ported enclosure sound nice and tight and will straighten your pubes when you climb into the volume knob a little...4 channel and a monoblock is a space saver and youll get more sub power that way as well. 5 channel amps are a little short on sub power but thats the compromise for an all in one package. you being from the uk you should be able to find the fusion stuff pretty easily, its not so common over here but i am a dealer for it and its popularity is increasing

Yeah fusions are great subs, i used to have one but sold it too me mate because he needed one and i didnt need it anylonger. just i wanted something a little more powerful but i shall look into the powerplant ones a bit more

I know JL is big over there. Theres brands over there we dont get. Like Mutant, we dont have that over here.

I know the guys from Rev's love JL Audio. Kicker is another good option. Unless you got the money for Brax?

Stu might have some good suggestions on UK based stuff. Im not positive what all is available over there.

I'm with Terry (smoker) on the Fusion stuff... You want more than what you had definately look at the PowerPlant and NV line up... For good clean sound without spending an arm and a leg, you could probably do all of it in Fusion with a 2channel for a set of PowerPlant components up front and a Mono amp for 1 or 2 subs in the back... and don't even worry bout the rears...
That'll give ya a great sound for your Metal
