Anyone else?
Scope of the project:
We will make two databases. 1) will be the super subs. Total potential displacements, then factor in the cost. This should yield a "value per liter"
2) List will be bang for the buck. Same thing, but for people on limited budgets...

the h2 is far from a "super sub"
its EXTREMELY easy to blow... pitifully easy for that price.
If you ever get one... I sincerely hop you get a warranty with it.
Strokers, not even CLOSE to a "super sub" it can fart nice, but not a super sub... RFL isn't even a sub, its a midbass, and a POS at that. The soloX is also a big heavy waste of $... a few smaller subs can EASILY top it.... again I say EASILY!
awt34, LVS... both just for show. Performance, nope.
Eclipse TI's really arent so super either :)
I'd like to add the kicker CVR, and l7... for the $ they are SUPERB subs. The CVR is unbeatable in the price range, and the l7 is a world class SPL w00fer. That being said, either one of em in a good ole' prefab box will suck... although both EBP out to a sealed box, they work REALLY well ported.
soundstream XXX would be a "super sub" although I don't think its all that amazing in actual use... looks nice though.

An Eclipse Titanium is not so super, but an L7 is world class? Please. Remember that a supersub isn't your typical overmotored SPL geared sub, it is designed with high linear excursion and the suspension design to perform well in SQ type enclosures such as sealed and low tuned ported. The emphasis is to provide good sound quality over a wide bandwidth, which the Eclipse Ti does worlds better than an L7 could ever dream of doing. L7s have too many design issues to be considered "world class", the overall engineering is inferior to that of a well built round coned subwoofer. The excursion is limited due to the square design, so any surface area benefit you'll get from it will still be surpassed by a higher excursion round sub. The square design results in uneven stress points, meaning cone flex, inferior strength to weight ratio, and the need for added bracing to be as strong as a round subwoofer, which adds to mass and makes the sub less efficient. You don't see SQ competitors using 6x9s for a reason, same with square subs. The reason Tis get their flack is because Eclipse isn't so informative about enclosure design and they underrate their power handling by a good amount, if you put that sub in a well designed ported enclosure and give it over 1000W+ RMS, you'll understand why it makes the supersub category.

"supersub"... if you want to knock off every SPL sub from the "supersub" list... lets knock off the 9500 and for sure the 9900. The l7 IS a worls class SPL sub... the dam thing farts like a 500lb man who just ate 200lbs of beans if you put it in the right box... and its cheap. If you see my other posts, I said the l7 is unreliable... thats understood - but when your burpin at 67hz in a CRX... all it has to do is last 1 second :)
The TI is a good all around sub, but its not "super" in any category... except for the super high price. They sound good, get fairly loud... but they don't EXCEL anywhere.

Adire Audio Parthenon
Xmax = 175mm (peak to peak)
Air Displacement = 66L
Sensitivity = 121 dB @ 20Hz
Adire does not specify a power rating but I would imagine it can easily take 10,000W RMS.
edit: This is easily the king of the super subs! And I can assure you that those numbers are not typos

parthenon is fairly super :)
it cant be used in any typical application.. but i dont think anything on the market can do what it does below 15hz, lol
