Alpine DVA-9965

Post by Audiophile »

Any input?

I fell in love as soon as I saw and read the specs on this unit.

Color bio-lite display (just a bonus)
4v pre-outs (seemingly becoming a big deal again...i thought it was standard there for a while)
DVD-Audio/Video WITHOUT A SCREEN!! (w00t!)
MediaXpander (first deck to have this since like 04 I think; my current 9830 has it and I love it for burned discs)
HP/LP filters built in (another cool bonus)
Etc....

Here's a link to it:

Any input or opinions? Personal Experiences? Because I work for an Alpine dealer I get it for $750. I do NOT want an in dash screen as my source unit, although I may add the Alpine TMI-M990 as a screen for navigation and/or rear-view camera. The screen visible to the driver WILL NOT play video whilst in motion. There will be a monitor in each headrest, 1 glassed into the interior of the glovebox, and one glassed into the sub enclosure.

Soo....thoughts?

You won't be sorry. I have the model that is a step down from that, but last model year's. MP3 DVD's are a wonderful thing.

w00t. That was all I needed was one person's input lol. I'll be ordering it soon, as my 9830 has served me well for...uhhh 5 years? I dunno, but it's starting to die out.

My reason for not replacing it sooner is that I LOVE alpine headunits, but the stuff they've been producing has been lacking most of the features my 5 year old unit has! That's nuts. Anywho, thanks for the input Will!! :)

I have a 9830 also, and I'm crazy about it. I have had mine for about 4 years and ain't interested in getting rid of it either. It was my first Alpine and I love it.

The other one you are talking about is a good unit also. You won't be sorry

yeahp, my 9830 was a phenomenal unit. She's finally getting the boot though, as I really need to update to some new technology. I may sell the 9830 soon...
