Powerful Dual Fan Upgrade

My vehicle came stock with a single 16" cooling fan that doesn't even have a shroud. Therefore, it was seriously ineffective, especially for the hot Arizona weather. I didn't have much of an issue unless I was driving up the mountains, but was forced to stop and let it cool repeatedly. That was the clear signal for me to do a serious upgrade.
Dual 12" Fans Pushing Over 3,100 CFM
After looking at the many options available, I decided on the Maradyne MJS22K kit from Hawks (dual 12" fans). It puts out well over 3,100 CFM and the shroud is just about perfect size for the radiator. The kit comes with good mounting brackets (have to cut to size) and a quality primary wiring harness with relay.
IMPORTANT NOTE: It is critical that you also purchase the Maradyne MFA111 “Dual Fan Adapter Harness” for the above kit. For some reason, even though it shows the harness as “required” for the dual fan kit (and indeed is required, as it includes the second 50amp relay, etc.), it does NOT come with.
Slight Customization Required
I had to keep the original top brace plastic in-place to keep the radiator secured. Unfortunately, that meant that I needed to cut off the parts where the old 16" fan mounted to it. This was a simple, single cut all the way across the plastic piece, but I was bummed that an original component had to be cut. Oh well… it's worth it for the upgrade!
Wired Power Directly To The Battery
Since I had the space available and a proper adapter to plug into the large battery terminal, I went ahead and wrapped everything in really nice braided loom and shrink wrapped it accordingly. It looks amazing and the cooling fan wiring is ran thoughtfully and out of the way.
The Results Are Outstanding
After taking the vehicle for multiple test drives now and deliberately stressing it hard up the mountain again, I can say that the results are amazing. It's an absolute night-and-day difference in cooling capabilities.
