Good to hear that you got it all running. If you ahve an nVidia based video card, they had many issues with their early Vista drivers. You should look to see if there is a newer version of the drivers available if you continue to have problems.

BTW, Symantec Ghost is a MUST HAVE for any computer geek. It basicaly does the same thing that the Seagate tool did for you, except it has way more options. Also, Acronis has some new stuff that works well too. I am just old skool and prefer Ghost. I have been using it since the Win95 days. Back before Norton bought them, and before Symantec bought Norton. :D

You know I was talking to my mother last night (whom by the way has been involved with teaching computers and working with different IT departments hands on and off for the last 2 decades) and said that Seagate for some odd reason seems to go in cycles of putting out bad products, they'll go a year or 2 and then all of the sudden for about a month put out pure crap, after which they start fixing problems and go back to business as usual... So hopefully they are finally past all the problems and you've finally got one of the "business as usual" products.

Well I gave it another go last night.

I got windows to load properly. I loaded my vid card driver that I d'loaded to my memory stick.

For whatever reason I ran into a video problem?

Got the internet to work all good... Outside the vid problem everythign seemed good. But then I tried to pug in my old hard drive to extract my information. Blue screen after blue screen.

I found out and downloaded Seagates Clone wizard to clone my old drive. I got it to boot up on the old drive and recognize my ned drive. I ran the clone wizard. Now Im done and it works fabulous!

What a wonderful tool! Less than the time to install and setup Vista and Im up and running as my old drive was exactly!!!

No this is the replacement Seagate. I want to get another drive due to fear of this situation again but just cant afford it..

I will yank out the other 3 sticks ram and a Pci to LPT card I have.

I heard that Seagate and WD have a vendeta against all GOP supporters :p

For real though Ryan. If you need help, send me a PM and you can bring the beast to me and I will take a look at it pro bono. I would not be too surprised if it tuned out to be a bad PSU.

If you want some ideas, try taking out all but one piece of RAM and al cards that are not necessary. Strip the system down to bare essentials and then do a format and reinstall. If you still have issues, it is with something you have still connected. I highly doubt all of these issues are drive related.

This is not a vista issue. ive loaded vista on 4 diffrent pc's ive built as well as my friends have put it on without any issues.

Is this the new WD drive you got?
