I'll see what I can dig up. If I have stuff that's not 14 gauge i'll send it along anyway

by Bwcad1 » Tue Feb 17, 2009 9:38 am

I can if people send it to me 14ga seems to be the normal size for most people so i should probably start with that

by falkenbd » Tue Feb 17, 2009 9:36 am

don't want to try out different gauges of wire?

by Bwcad1 » Tue Feb 17, 2009 8:20 am

I have a 100w non inductive Dummy Resistor i can use. 15Ft-20ft of any speaker wire in 14 gage you want to donate would be fine ill try it out.

So would you be using an amplifier with a load and checking voltage at both ends?

Also, you'd have to do it for different loads and power ratings.

Thats about what we nee dto go from amps to fronts

by Bwcad1 » Mon Feb 16, 2009 8:05 pm

Probably 20'

by falkenbd » Mon Feb 16, 2009 6:53 pm

that would be sweet. i'd send you a couple of samples of what I have laying around...

what would you use? 10 foot sections?

This gives me an idea.... I think im gonna set up a test. with diffrent brand speaker wire and then run a Voltage Drop test and a Resistance test on them. see what ranks the highest and the lowest.
