Yeah im not really feeling DIY, I don't have enough knowledge of the concept of it to even get me started. So hopefully the first works out for me.

yeah just talked with another guy from caraudio.com and he said that its not worth it, you could go active yourself and work with your cars acoustics rather than his passives, he said his xovers are basically "caps strapped down real fugly on some plywood". So OlogyAudio is out...

Im really leaning toward the Arc's right now. I've owned two sets of CDT's in the past, and I am pleased with the performance, but I'd like to try something new.

The crossover is the most important part of the set, and the engineering required is what jacks the price up anyway. That's car audio for you, though. SEAS Excel mids can be had for around $150 each on madisound, but the Rainbow Reference 2 ways use the same drivers (but different speaker cones) and are $7,000 for the whole she-bang. Alpine F#1 Status and Genesis Audio systems use Scanspeak Revelator drivers, the CDT component systems use Vifas, list goes on and on.

holy crap!!! for that kind of money i would run an electronic crossover and multiple amps!!!

And he wants to charge $700 for a set?

he's using

Two RS150S-8 6” Midwoofers
Two RS28A-4 1 1/8” Tweeters

both are dayton I believe, from partsexpress. the mids are like $28 a piece and the tweeters are like $45. Might be using 7" isntead of 6", I will have to find out.

you are correct about the MB quart brightness, im looking for more of a "laid back" tweeter.

you elevation guys will have to let me know what you think of those comps once you get them hooked up. Do you have prices for them yet?

and that damn ologyaudio, I guess his xovers are like $180. He said once he gets into a shop and starts distribution he will be selling them for around $700 a set, and irght now it will cost around $350. "I'm shooting for quality between Rainbow Profi Vans and Rainbow Platinum for a good price in the end"

man i dunno, so many choices, and i cant exactly listen to all of them and compare.
