Hey man, we deal with this ALL the time.
There is a bypass tool you can buy. Basically two wires with aligator clips and you just route power to the motor itself and skip the solenoid.

Buy a new solenoid and slap it on, really cheap and easy to do. Should take I dunno 30minutes tops...

no, if im looking at the solonoid right the solonoid is bad, i can jump everything and it works but the solonoid isnt clicking over

So you are not getting an ignition signal to the solonoid huh? Sounds like the switch, but I am not sure. It should be in the steering column connected to the tumbler. When your key goes forward it hits contacts for the fuel pump, and ignition. About the best advice I have for you is to start from that solonoid and work you way back with a DMM, or from the ignition switch and go forward. Atleast you have found a quick fix for it.

i think so...im gonna try and bypass the factory solonoid becasue the starter motor itself is good, the solonoid is integrated to the starter but if i bypass it it will kick out and spin good......

the engine wasnt turning over but would start if you rolled it......i knew it was starter related but i wasnt sure if it was related to the safety switch or something in the starter circuit....

Are you getting fuel? We know your apparently not getting fire. If there is no fuel check your ignition switch, and tumbler. Make sure when you turn your key forward that your ignition wires register a voltage. I have seen a few vehicles with this problem, a real head sratcher. If there is any corrosion on the contacts on your ignition switch you will not get anything from your starter. How about the fuel pump, can you hear it buzzing when the key is turned forward? If that fails, get your dmm out and start tracing your ignition wires until you lose voltage. There is your problem.

ok, keep in mind, i love my car but shes got 189000 miles on her, i pulled the starter, the solenoid is part of it and has the main power wire from the battery, the wire to the starter and a third wire that is for whatever.....the third wire if grounded is the one that causes the starter to move out into the flywheel, the other two are obviously the power supply and the starter connection.......if i connect power to the supply side nothing happens, if i bypass it and go straight to the starter side the starter engages, if i have the third smaller wire grounded, then go to the starter side with power the starter does everything perfectly.......if i take and wire a 30 amp relay to provide power to the starter side of the solenoid will this fix the problem, or better yet will it kill the relay? i guess i should go get a ford type solonoid for this huh?

Keep in mind it was an old P.O.S. Honda... you know, one of the ones that had 50million vacuum lines, but only needed 4 :p
