Ditto on ECS, those are horrible. Epox seems to be decent. On my 2nd of those. I've always had good luck with Abit boards. Asus is definately most reliable. Gigabyte is decent too. Whoa, epox still makes boards? They had this one super-bad-ass board back in the day. It came in a really cool box too...

If you want a quick and cheap speedup, see if your motherboard will handle an Athlon XP chip. Any of the 2000/2200/2400 chips will FAR outperform your standard AMD tbird/tbred chip.
