I have a set of BG Neo3 planars. I like the sound, although they won't cross low and won't take much power. The Neo8s look to be a bit better, but they're also much bigger. The next logical step would be ribbons which you can look up on Madisound, check out Fountek. They have some smaller ones that aren't ridiculously priced.

i kinda figured it wasnt a good idea, i like how tc sounds always talks up there product by bashing the ideas of other companies. in the description of the planar, they make it sound like dome tweeters are possibly the worst invention in the world. which makes their product sound better.

The BG Neo3s have optional back cups, I guess for car use. They sounded neat, that's for sure. Extremely "airy", I guess because of that wide horizontal dispersion.GlassWolf wrote:biggest issue with planar tweeters is that they function a lot like electrostatics.
they are bipolar, and use 2nd order reflection from the rear for imaging, so in a car they aren't really ideal.
make good computer speakers though
When you say bipolar, you mean they fire from the front and back, right?

Morel Elate 3-ways ran by a Genesis Series III Dual-mono, Morel Ultimo ran by an Autotek mm3000.1, Alpine DVA-9861
