DEH-P880RS versus Rockford RFX-8250ti

Post by GLN305 »

Which of these head units do you guys think is the best for pure SQ? I have the Pioneer and it's a great radio, I just really like the history and purity of the RF unit. I have an opportunity to buy an 8250 for $400 BNIB which I think is worth it. Any comments?

Both of them should be excellent units. I'd base my decision on whether or not you have the money. Assuming both meet your needs, I'd go for whatever has better aesthetics to you.

If you currently have the Pioneer then I'd recommend sticking with it... They are both very good units, but it would really seem a waste to go with the RF unless it really has a feature on it that you can't live without... Just my 2 cents ;)

I'd go with the Pioneer... seems to me to be a better buy.

I ended up staying with the Pioneer. The guys selling the RF unit had a huge attitude problem and it really didn't look BNIB.

I recently seen an 8240 going for about $225 shipped...

I actually was after an RF unit awhile back.

Evidently when they got out of the Denfords situation they had a stock pile of these they blew out for like $160ish... So I cant see paying much more than $300 for any of them, if that.

I have the 880prs and like it. The features are awesome, but its not nearly as pure as the McIntosh I had.
