Pioneer blue cones

Post by coot »

So the other day this girl i work with came in all bumping. I was like what you got and she has two 12 blue con pioneers in a prefab slot port box powered by some kenwood amp. Was not expecting anywhere close to the output she had. Was not the cleanest at the peak volume but impressive for some $50 subs. So now i ask you for other $50 subs that could meet or beat that output and have a little better sound quality i know the box is key but you know humor me a little. have looked a little and i came across the Massive pw12 which looks promising any comments and really other options

Ive built a box for the PW10's

They are a small sealed box sub. Dont do well ported or in larger enclosures, IMO.

If your looking to spend $50 per sub, just buy a single 12" thats worth while. You can get an SQX or a Type R for $100.

Or that for $155

If your talking like $25 per sub, $50 total GTFO ;) If thats the case eD has some junk subs for $25 each.

I agree... The Massive PWs are more designed for SQ on a budget and not a heavy hitter... but for a clean sound that doesn't require a lot of power, they'd make for a great daily off a 4 channel and a decent set of comps up front.

Other budget subs (under $75 bucks each) that I've found I like are the
Interfire IFs and IFBs
Xsites
Hifonics HFs
Fusion Encounters
American Bass DX
Audiopipe Eyecandy and Ipipes
These are all the low end models I can think of off the top of my head that sounded good for a budget build ;)

You can get 2 12" kicker comp vrs for around 120 off ebay. They get decently loud and sound pretty good for a budget sub.

On a tight budget theses are probably the best bang for the buck.
