I've been wanting to go with a carputer myself. I think quad core is way overkill for anything you're going to do in a car though. I'd want mini-ITX at least, and I don't know if they make a mini-ITX board that will support quad core. check out mini-itx.com I think that's the site.

If I am to do another competition car, then overkill is definately what I want. I plan on having wireless broadband when it comes avail nationwide. Not like through a sprintpcs receiver, but rather true broadband satellite...

Yes quadcore is overkill, but it will be still strong in a few years and this way I don't have to upgrade much.

Joey, I am seriously thinking about this, call you later tonight once my cellphone charges up again.

Actually, my car will be used for a ministry vehicle of sorts too. I have recently been promoted as the main sound guy at my church, and I have become the associate youth pastor there also. I want to show the kids that listening to good music doesn't have to sacrifice a good beat either.

Joey, I will probably contact Jan at MP3car.com to get some information on the right setup...With it being something I can piece together, I think I can afford the 1500 dollar setup easier than just paying one lump sum. Like I said though, I will call you later to discuss this.

That micro-atx link I put above supports quad core. As far as overkill..... Who doesn't want overkill? Hell we could play all the latest games in Joe's car while killing some time at a show! Maybe I'll do a carputer as well and we could have online gaming comps, imagine the experience playing a game in a comp level install! sweet action dude!

definately congrats on stepping up to responsibility like that, I know you'll do some good.
