Elevation Audio, 168db?
Elevation Audio, 168db?
As I was told by a prominent member here... 168db with 6 12's and 3 1500 watt amps... on the termlab nonetheless.
Here would be a great place to post proof of this.
You'd think if they crushed a world record that they would post it on their site, eh?
That is all... please don't turn this into a "flame war" or a "pissing match"...

Depends on what class it was in.Mercedesbends69 wrote:Explain the crushing a world record part of it to me.
then again, it realy wouldnt matter... it would be the loudest setup in the world with this amount of power.... by at least 10db...
I dont know if everyone here understands how loud 168db really is...
Perhaps this will clear things up?

also check the current leaderboards...

note nothing with anything to do with elevation audio?
You can check usaci, MECA, SLAP... nothin.

168 isnt near the world record. I see plenty of 170+ up therespkrman wrote:Depends on what class it was in.

hell there is even a few 175+ up there
in extreme installs with gobs and gobs of power, surecrzystng wrote:168 isnt near the world record. I see plenty of 170+ up there

nobody has done a 170 yet with a stock interior... not on the dash.
Maybe to better yet put that number into perspective... have a look here - this is what class that number would be in.

checkout 05 super street 5-8 results... apparantly i cant directly link to them.
notice 2 people are doing a 168, neither have anything to do with elevation audio.
Also notice how fast the scores rolloff after them... why? Because its ungodly difficult to get that loud...

My car does 165.5 dB with 2 10" Arc 10D2's :)
So yeah 168 is very feasible with all that stuff.

Actually at the Adrian show we went to there were a few cars approaching that number.
If I recall right there was a 3-4 NW hitting 165ish or so...
So to me 168 is attainable with that amount of subs. Power doesnt mean squat, its the sub displacement.

displacement doesnt matter in SPL... example, stroker. Dam thing had about 10mm of xmax. If you think its all about displacement and power has nothing to do with it, you are headed down the wrong path.Basstronics wrote:Actually at the Adrian show we went to there were a few cars approaching that number.

there is no such class as 3-4NW... only 1-2NW... and sure, there are a few installs that break 160's with only 2-4 subs, but these are elite competitors using gobs and gobs of power with walled vehicles.
which btw... i still see no proof of this number, i only see a justification that it is remotely possible, of which i will firmly hold that it is not :)
On a crappy AC, sure... my one type R 12 broke a 165 last show because the meter was fooked... couldnt even read it.
On a termlab sensor, no chance.
Speaking of which... what class was this 168 in? Pics of the car?
