Resonant Engineering SX 12"

tell me about it, i was thinkin of spendin my last bit of cash and getting another 1200.1 then after i get some more cash i could buy 2 RE XXX 12s and run 1200 each /me glares madly

Actually ive been doing alot of contemplating as of late. Im thinking about doing one of these setups.

jbl 1200.1 and 2 RE SE 12's, ideal sealed box
jbl 1200.1 and 2 RE SX 12's, large sealed box (seems like the best choice)

Jbl 1200.1 and 1 RE XXX 15", ideal sealed box
jbl 1200.1 and Adire Brahma 15", ideal sealed box.

which do you guys think would be the best?

I know they are all good sq and spl subs, i want em loud, loud enough to set of car alarms (its funny). Id like somthing that would be on par with or better than a system with 2 jl 12w7s, here is why, it may sound stupid but lol.

I was workin with a guy at my old job, and we were on the topic of car audio. He was like yeah i have 2 jl 12w7s in my car, id have to say its the best system in our town. I was like yeah 12w7s are good, but have ya heard of resonant engineering XXX subs. He was like no, it must not be that good because I would have heard of em. (hes one of them guys who thinks he knows everything). I was like nah they are awesome possibly even better than jl subs. but anyway id really like to be able to pull up next to him, crank it up and make him feel stupid. I hope ya enjoyed my little story, i just really hate know it alls.

just go for it all...two 12" XXX's with one of those JBL amps on each...im not really into that competition stuff cause im a SQ guy but to my knowledge, that might rattle his system a bit

i think its 32 or somthin, if I get the 2 re xxx 12s i gotta go another amp asap before they sell out which means ill be broke for a good long while

Not good enough for me? Quite the opposite actually. They are INCREDIBLY LOUD, and I was only giving them 1/3 of their recommended power. I just purchased a pair of Rainbow Vanadium subwoofers, noit much better in my opinion. I'm going for a pure SQ setup now.

In case you were wondering, I hit 143.1 with the pair, only giving them 1/3 of their RMS power, very impressive. I'm asking $650 SHIPPED. Incredible good deal considering they weigh 60 pounds each and shipping is expensive.

believe me...2 10"s is not going to be quiet. They are going to be quite loud, naturally 2 12"s are going to be a bit louder. XXX's have 32mm of xmax...take a sub you have or find one and take out a measuring tape or ruler and measure 32mm outwards...its pretty shocking. Those things move a lot of air.

and yeah he's not exaggerating when he says they weigh 60lbs shipped, my 12" xxx weighed in at 53lbs, and the crate it was shipped in was over 60lbs. my mom couldnt even pick the sub up.

and depending on what type of music you listen to, if it was rock id be willing to bet 1 10" could be too much bass for you, let alone 2 10".

anyways my point is dont let the 10" fool you...dont think you have to have at least 12"...hey that one guy has a wall of 6x9's (which are tiny compared to like 12" sub) and he hit 169db :)

its 19mm so the xxx has way more, almost 50% more.

TRUST me 2 10's would be standable with MOST sub, but youre forgetting there xxx's, if you port them, give them more than 600rms, maybe 1000rms each, get a 4 volt HU, you probably will stomp on those w7's. imagine shitting on youre pals 12's with youre 10's LOL, if i were you id take those 10's from justin, you will SAVE big time.

its 19mm so the xxx has way more, almost 50% more.

Actually the 12W7 have 29mm, not 19. That's only I believe 3 mm less than the XXX.
