So what you are saying is that we cannot hold Bush accountable for anything that has happened in the last 8 years? So he is not responsible for keeping the USA safe since 911? He is not responsible for the disarming of N. Korea in any way? Bush could not have possibly been an influence on the current housing market, or the banks, or the job sector?

I just simply said not to think that Bush had anything to do with our lavish spending as a country. The national debt has been way over the trillion mark long before Bush or his daddy came along. Sure he didn't help things, but he didn't amass that debt by himself.

As far as the banks...Why don't you ask the German Economy about bank loans for homes, there are more large German financial institutions that are hurting because of default mortages than you know.

Wow. I say that he is directly responsible to the tune of a minimum of $10B per month for the last 5 years and a grand total of $3 TRILLION dollars. Don't be naive and assume that he has not lead this country for the past 8 years.

Bill I agree. I am against welfare in every form. I will give you an example.

One of the Presidential candidates this year has offered to help strugling homeowners get out of their bad mortgages. He plans on buying your upside-down mortgage from your bank, then having the FHA write you a new mortgage for current value at a much lower APR rate. The difference between your payoff and your current value will be paid for by hard working tax payers. I am 100% against this handout. It will encourage people to not pay their mortgage for a few months to be eligible for the program.

That same candidate is going to hand every American a check for $5000 for you to buy health insurance where ever you choose. This is not a tax deduction, it is a refundable tax credit. So if you have no income and pay no taxes, you still get $5000. That is welfare as well. It is a very bad plan.

I think you know which candidate has proposed these plans. I am not a Democrat. I am not a GOP basher. I share some values with the GOP and some with the Democrats. I do not agree with the GOP ticket this year and feel that the Democrats offer a better candidate.

my mother is disabled and living on a form of welfare so i wouldn't just flat out say that everyone who is on welfare is a lazy asshole who refuses to get a job. Though, most are.

agreed, but i think we need to ditch the two party system because its obvious that both the democrats and the republicans only serve their lobbyists, buddys back in the area they represent, corporations, and any other organization that funds their campaigns.

Surprisingly enough, I've felt that way for quite some time... After all we're all supposed to be Americans, but most politicians seem to be more involved with either agreeing or disagreeing with their own or the competitors parties.

Yeah..that got me to look here.. I agree that both candidates have their plus sides, but Obama is such a smooth talker, typical of liberals.. He says what he knows people want to hear.. But then you start reading up on him and he is going to tax us more and give lazy asses our money.. no thanks! Plus pull everyone out of Iraq and call it quits?.. Hell no!..right or wrong, we are there and have to stay there to finish what we started.. what a moron.
