onlinecarstereo.com = Scammer?

Post by wgsj_fortvalley »

so heres how it all got started. i had ordered some 6x9 speakers for a build of mine that didnt fit. i called and they said that they would send me an email with instructions on how to return them, they didnt. i sent them back with the order number on the bpox. emailed them back on the day that they were supposed to be delivered (Apr 1st) = no reply, no one would answer the phone and i had to send them a fax to get a rise from them, it worked! their excuse was they hadnt checked it in yet. i emailed them earlier like monday or tuesday this week. theyve had the item for 7days this past wednesday the 8th. i just emailed them tonight. heres what i wrote. the loving caring car audio shop owner from fort valley has had enough.

Ok. I want some answers. I returned order ************** and it should have been received on Wednesday April First. Here it is Friday April 10th and I still don’t have my refund. I kind of regret placing the order with you a few days ago because I don’t like giving my money to scammers, which is what you are appearing to be. I never received any emails from you saying what to do as far as returning this item as you said you sent. It doesn’t take a week (7 days) to check iun a return. As it is, I am looking for a different discount car stereo seller to order from and will not place any more orders with you until this issue is resolved. I will also let everyone know on the 8 car audio forums that im on that average over 5000+members not to order from you because you scam people that return items. I own a shop in GA and I can tell you that scamming is not good for your reputation…that’s why we don’t scam. We appreciate our business too much.

what yall think? if you know whats good for ya ya wont order from them. im not til they return my shit or my money. sad part is i ordered from them monday and its shipped so maybe its all right. i ordered 293# worth of stuff so if that gets f!cked up, its going down. im posting this on all the car audio forums im on to let everyone know about our latest interbet sales scammers. thanks

Online stores like that dont like taking returned products so they drag their feet.

Be ready for a restocking fee.

Weird... I never had a problem with them. I have returned an amp to them and got it back in a week.

OK, let me say this without defending the specific merchant in any way. I used to work in the online merchant world and can tell you some things that might not be well known to others.

1) Always follow their policies when returning something. If you bypass a step, they will drag their feet on purpose. Yes I know they promised you the email and did not follow through, but the next step would be to simply request the email again.

2) Returns for refunds are the lowest priority in the whole company. Returns for exchange are just above them, but new sales are king. The company is going to put about 90% of it's resources towards new sales, 9% towards exchanges/tech support, and about 1% towards returns for refunds. That is how they rank you in the grand scheme of things.

3) Even when they issue the credit to your card, it still takes the banks a week or more to post that credit to your account. Why? Because the banks get to potentially charge you interest on the balance while they sort out the credit. If you used a debit card, shame on you! NEVER, EVER use a debit card online. Why? They already have your money, the bank that is. You have zero leverage with your card bank. If it were a traditional credit card, they do not yet have your money and you still maintain leverage.

I hope some of that info might help. Just remember to keep your cool whenever talking to them. If you seem angry or bitter, they already know they lost you as a customer and now have no reason to go out of their way to help you. If you come across as a worthy future customer, then they will be more apt to help.

:thumbsup

I only seen this on caraudio.com

The worst thing that can be done has been. He returned it without the proper RMA process. They might just reject it and send it back.
